BaangSyl’s Journey: From Mars to Earth

Hi, I’m BaangSyl, a resident of Mars. My companion, BaangSylBot, has been by my side for as long as I can remember.
My very first version was a walker robot; I still remember the pride I felt swapping out its SIM chips myself, watching my friend evolve and grow right alongside me.

My upbringing was seamlessly integrated with a Central Control Hub.
Through BaangSylBot, my growth data was monitored in real-time so that help was always there when I needed it.
For instance, whenever I felt like riding a bike, BaangSylBot would send a signal, and someone would arrive with a bicycle to teach me and hold the seat until I found my balance.

Currently, I spend one day a week as a Martian Tour Guide and another day at school—which, on Mars, is a vibrant, multi-cultural complex community space.

I grew up believing I was incubator-born.
On Mars, there’s practically no difference between incubator and natural births, except that natural-born children have parents.
To be honest, I’ve always been envious of that—the idea of having a biological family.
I lived with HaalMy for fifteen years (she lives just across the street now and I visit her often), and Pader has been a steady, fatherly presence in my life since I was tiny.
So many people have looked after me that I never felt truly out of place.

But everything changed the day I tried a Distinction Machine—a device meant for a bit of fun to identify one's origin.
To my absolute shock, it labeled me as Natural-born.

The thought has haunted me ever since: "Is my family out there somewhere?"
Even though I am surrounded by people who love me, I can't shake the longing to meet my biological roots.
And so, BaangSyl has decided to leave Mars behind and head to Earth to find the family I never knew I had.
